I have just announced that I will be contesting preselection for the Labor Party’s Western Australian Senate Team for the 2013 Federal election at my new website www.martinwhitely.com
One of my major motivations for seeking to move from state to federal politics is that I want to be able to make a contribution to the direction of national mental health policy.
For regular blog readers please forgive this attempt at self promotion, normal service will resume shortly.

Hello Martin. Really glad to see you stepping forward and offering to represent us all at the federal level. In particular, I want to thank you for recognising our current crisis around mental health care, particularly the importance of recovery, as a national issue of importance.
Best of luck – we need more politicians like you!
